Wii for Babes

The Wii has the dubious distinction of attracting the much-coveted female audience. I mean, seriously, who really does most of the budgeting decisions in a household anyway- the wife, the mom, the girlfriend......(not always, but I have witnessed this on numerous occasions in a mutltitude of different families of all shapes and sizes). One article I read had a really, really unintentionally hilarious quote about women and the wii:

Women have been engaged for years with casual online games and have been a significant part of the Wii's success. But now with major console games that are geared specifically for them, we're seeing an opportunity to really expand gaming into the mainstream. It might start with fitness but who knows where it will lead.

What does that even mean- "who knows where it will lead". I love how much-ado can be made about nothing and really have to wonder what the writer was thinking about this sentence. Is he predicting a future of Wii games based on cooking shows or other household tasks? Is there going to be a craft-Wii game for the bored housewives whose kids have just left the nest like in the video above? Are there going to be extra-points for the woman who successfully nags her husband into taking out the garbage? Seriously, come on, the women I know love most of the same Wii games that their dudes do.
